While robots won't be able to replace a traditional vacuum in removing dirt-in particles like metal screws and pieces of orzo pasta, they're excellent in sweeping dust, crumbs and hair from pets. The most effective models come with smart navigation technology and a feature to avoid objects which allow them to navigate around toys, cords and other household obstacles.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ is a fantastic robot vacuum that has a number smart features to make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the most convenient features we've seen in a robot, and it works well with both hard floors and carpets. It's also simple to install and use with the app that guides you through the process step-by-step. Its ability to resumptuate where it left off in our tests is another impressive feature. It was able to do this for 77 minute on one cleaning, before the battery was exhausted.
In contrast to other robovacs we've evaluated, the i3+ EVO comes with self-emptying bins that dump debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's filled. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it must be manually emptied after every cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's built-in dust bin can hold 2.4L of trash that is enough to last five or four cleaning sessions before you have to replace it.
Like the i7 uses state-ofthe-art floor-tracking sensors to create maps. It can also allow you to navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, while the i7 can store multiple. The i7's map can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, but not the i3+ EVO.
The i3+ EVO is more effective of removing surface debris compared to some other robovacs that we have looked at, but it's not the best at cleaning edges and corners. It's also less gentle on furniture, despite being remarkably silent. It was quite rough on furniture, since it pushed chairs away. It also caused collisions with the sides of the bed.
2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro
If you're looking to expand your collection of robot vacuums or just beginning your journey using one, the Q5 Pro is a great option. It packs powerful power, advanced navigation, and handy automation into a sleek design at a price that is affordable. It's the most affordable model for the money on the market currently and is even better than the Roborock models that are more expensive in many ways.
This robot does a great job of cleaning floors that are not clean and its avoidance technology helps it steer clear of furniture legs and other obstacles. It also performs well on carpets and scores the highest score on our navigation tests. The only issue is that it's noisier than other models and doesn't do as well in our satisfaction of the owner and predicted reliability tests.
The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust bin that is 770ml. This means you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. Its 240-minute runtime is extremely generous when compared to other models we've examined. When the battery is low it returns to its dock and recharges before resuming cleaning where it stopped. You can manage the Q5 Pro via the app and use voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is the first robot we've seen with 3D mapping. This along with other advancements made it perform extremely well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping test. You can schedule cleanings, set no-go zones, and check the status of the battery, among other things. The app is easy to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit and that feature is slated to be added by 2025. Apple updated its website's footnote in early November to reflect the fact that this feature has been delayed until 2025. Several other robots don't work with HomeKit, but many of them are compatible with Siri Shortcuts.

The TP-Link Tapo R30 Plus robot vacuum cleaner is an excellent option if you're looking for a machine that is able to mop and is affordable. It is stylish in design and a lot of impressive features for its price. You can control it using the buttons on the device through the app or even with voice commands. The device is battery-powered and the vacuum container can automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus is a great vacuum cleaner for standard messy messes. It can also be used to gently mop on hard floors. It comes with mopping cloths and a replacement sweeping brush and an HEPA filter. It can be connected to smart hubs such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to provide voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus can be easily set up and connected to different floor surfaces with the automatic mode. This assures that the optimal results are achieved in every room and floor.

The well-designed base station nearly completely automates the cleaning process. It offers excellent obstacle avoidance and navigation.
This model utilizes an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to create a map of your home, resulting in efficient cleaning routes. The iMop was a winner in our navigation efficiency and coverage evaluations, and it was very good at avoiding obstacles, including furniture. It can also find its way to the base station in case it is unable to recharge its batteries during a cleaning session.
The spot cleaning mode lets you to clean a particular area on your floor. It can also be programmed to follow a certain direction. This is ideal for narrow stairs or hallways. It did a good job of cleaning carpets in our carpet cleaning test however, it had trouble with higher pile carpets and carpets. It is able to raise the mop pad automatically when it comes in contact with carpet. This is a fantastic feature for those who want to not have to mop their carpets.
The iMop comes with an onboard dust bin and a water tank that it fills and refills at the end of each cleaning session. The iMop is much easier to maintain and clean than the average robot cleaner, which can be an important selling point for busy households.
The smartphone app of iMop is simple to use and packed with configuration options. It comes with different suction settings, mopping settings and scheduling. It lets you create virtual walls, no-go zones, and other restrictions so that your robot doesn't wander off into prohibited areas.
